Ryan Nauman's Weekly Recap: COVID-19 Market Edition 12.14.20

The week ahead will be headlined the Federal Reserve’s (Fed) December meeting announcement and Chairman Powell’s follow up press conference. The Fed statement and Powell’s comments will be widely watched, particularly in regard to the need for fiscal and monetary stimulus as COVID-19 cases surge and government mandated restrictions take place.

Additionally, retail sales will be in the crosshairs of investors as we gather more information about the ever important holiday shopping season and how the pandemic shifted consumer spending habits. Finally, fresh data on the red-hot housing market will be released during the week.
